Pounce termsPlain terms, no surprises
Pounce terms in plain English: monthly plans through Paystack, cancel any time and keep your plan to the end of the month you paid for, and use the data for your own sales work.
01Who these terms are with
Pounce (pounce.co.za) sells access to business data and the tools around it. These terms apply when you create an account, pay for a plan or commission a custom pipeline. Questions go to [email protected].
02Your account
One account per person. Keep your password to yourself; what happens under your account is your responsibility. On plans with more than one user, each user signs in as themselves.
You must be acting for a business. Pounce is not sold to private individuals for personal use.
03Plans and payment
The free plan costs nothing and needs no card: up to 10 matched leads a day, with why each fits, without contact details. Paid plans (Lite, Starter, Growth and Agency) are billed monthly in rand through Paystack, starting the day you pay; the prices on the pricing page are what you pay.
A paid plan starts only once Paystack confirms the payment. Each month renews on the same date until you cancel. If a renewal fails, you have seven days to update your card from Settings; after that the account moves to the free plan until a payment goes through.
Research credits, export rows and other limits reset each month and do not carry over. Credits bought as a top-up (R500 for 500) are paid once, never expire and are used after the month’s plan credits.
Launch offer: the first 20 paying customers pay half for their first month on Lite, Starter or Growth; full price applies from the second month.
04Free trial
Lite and Starter can be tried free for 3 days, once per business, card and account; Growth and Agency start when paid. Paystack checks the card with R5, refunded at once. If you do not cancel in Settings before the trial ends, the plan’s monthly price is charged to that card and the plan carries on monthly.
During a trial, exports are capped at 100 rows and research at 50 credits.
05Fair use
Each plan opens a set number of full records (contacts and people) a day, and lists, the API and connected AI apps have daily limits. Accounts that read Pounce like a scraper are paused and may be closed.
06Changing plan and cancelling
Change plan or cancel at any time in Settings, with no call and no notice period. Moving to another paid plan starts it straight away through Paystack and stops the old plan renewing.
Cancelling stops all future payments. You keep your plan until the end of the month you have paid for, then the account moves to the free plan. Paid months are not refunded in part. Your saved lists and leads stay in your account.
07How you may use the data
Use Pounce to find, research and contact businesses you could sell to. Contact people only in their business roles, and stop contacting anyone who asks you to.
You are responsible for your own outreach and for following the laws that apply to it, including data-protection and direct-marketing rules.
Do not resell, publish or give away Pounce’s data as a list or a database, scrape the app, share accounts, or use the data to harass, discriminate or defraud. Exports are for your own business’s sales work.
If someone asks Pounce to remove their details, we remove them from what customers see and export. Please remove them from any copy you exported, too.
08Outreach
Outreach sends only the emails you approve, from your own mailbox, and you are the sender: you are responsible for having a lawful reason to email each person and for what the emails say.
Pounce sends only to business addresses, adds your name, business and an opt-out to every email, stops follow-ups when someone replies, and never emails an address that opted out of any Pounce customer’s emails or asked Pounce to remove it. Your mailbox password is stored encrypted and used only to send what you approve and read the replies.
09What Pounce does and does not promise
Pounce collects from public sources and proprietary data every day and links each fact to where it came from. Businesses change and sources contain mistakes, so we cannot promise every record is complete or current; check what matters before you rely on it.
Pounce finds leads; it does not promise that any of them will buy from you.
We aim to keep the app running every day. Planned maintenance happens outside South African business hours where we can.
10Custom pipelines
A custom pipeline starts with paid scoping (R25,000), credited in full against the build if you go ahead. The build has a fixed price and date agreed in writing at scoping. Running it is billed monthly with a six-month minimum, after which it continues month to month until either side ends it with a month’s notice.
11Liability
Pounce’s total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid Pounce in the twelve months before the claim. Pounce is not liable for lost profits, lost sales or indirect losses. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
12Ending an account
You can close your account by writing to [email protected]. We may suspend an account that breaks the data-use rules above, after telling you why, and refund any month we stop you using.
13Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we email account holders at least 14 days before the change applies. Using Pounce after that date means you accept the new terms; if you do not, cancel before then.
