How Pounce uses dataPublic business data, used properly

How Pounce uses data: public business sources only, people only in their business roles, every fact linked to where it came from, and a simple way to object.

What Pounce collects

  • Business listings: names, categories, addresses, phone numbers and websites as businesses publish them.
  • Businesses’ own websites and public social posts: what they do, the people they name in business roles, published contact details, the tools the site runs.
  • Public registers: CIDB, FSCA, NCR and National Treasury’s restricted suppliers.
  • Government tenders and awards, the Government Gazette, company announcements, the news and proprietary data.
  • Ads people post themselves on Gumtree (a CV, a house or car of their own) with the contact details they wrote in them: B2C leads.

What Pounce never does

  • Anything about a person beyond their business role or an ad they posted themselves.
  • Anything behind a login: no fake accounts, no signed-in collection, no leaked or bought databases.
  • ID numbers on screen or in exports.
  • Sending messages on your behalf unless you switch on outreach, and then only to business addresses with opt-outs honoured.

How to object, or be removed

Write to [email protected] with the business name, or your name and the business you work for. We remove the details from everything customers see and export, and we tell you when it is done. Pounce’s full privacy policy is published before the first paying customer signs up; the customer terms are on the terms page.

Your account and website measurement

Google sign-in shares your verified email address and basic profile with Pounce so you can sign in. We do not request access to Gmail, Drive or your contacts. Existing accounts must be authenticated before linking Google.

Plausible measures visits and completed sign-ups without analytics cookies. We group customer-page addresses and remove search text, account identifiers and private query details from analytics events.

Meta advertising measurement is optional. If you allow it, Meta receives visits to the marketing site and a sign-up conversion, including browser and connection details. Its pixel does not load on customer lead pages or sign-in forms. We do not send lead records, your search contents, your name or your email address to Meta. You can change your choice using Ad preferences in the footer. Essential sign-in cookies and your advertising choice are stored separately.
