Pounce for GitHub Copilot adds Pounce’s MCP server to VS Code, so Copilot’s agent can search South African businesses and use your leads while it works.

Set it up

Works with Copilot’s MCP support in VS Code. Pounce’s MCP server needs a Growth or Agency plan.

  1. Make the key in Pounce: Settings, API keys (Growth and Agency plans). Treat it like a password.

  2. In VS Code, run MCP: Open User Configuration from the Command Palette and add:

    {
      "inputs": [
        { "type": "promptString", "id": "pounce-key", "description": "Pounce API key", "password": true }
      ],
      "servers": {
        "pounce": {
          "type": "http",
          "url": "https://app.pounce.co.za/mcp",
          "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer ${input:pounce-key}" }
        }
      }
    }
  3. Start the server; VS Code asks for the key once and keeps it securely.

  4. Open Copilot Chat in agent mode: Pounce’s tools are in the tools list.

Check it works

Ask Copilot: “Use Pounce to pull the open tenders for ICT and write them to tenders.json.”

Then ask for what you need

  • “Find steel fabricators in Ekurhuleni with a website”
  • “Open the full record for the third one”
  • “Which construction companies in KwaZulu-Natal won contracts this month?”
  • “Show my ten best leads and why each fits”
  • “Which cleaning tenders close this week in Gauteng?”
  • “Here are my 20 customers: which of them had news lately?”
  • “Draft an email to that contractor about our plant hire”
  • “How many export rows have I used this month?”

The MCP server and the API come with the Growth and Agency plans. Each business returned with its contacts uses one export row, as a CSV row does.
