Pounce for Gemini CLIUse Pounce in Gemini CLI

Pounce for Gemini CLI adds Pounce’s MCP server to Google’s terminal agent in one command, with South African businesses, signals, tenders and your leads as tools.

Set it up

Works with Gemini CLI’s MCP support. Pounce’s MCP server needs a Growth or Agency plan.

  1. Make the key in Pounce: Settings, API keys (Growth and Agency plans). Treat it like a password.

  2. Add the server for your user (drop -s user to keep it in this project):

    gemini mcp add --transport http -s user --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY" pounce https://app.pounce.co.za/mcp
  3. Or add it to ~/.gemini/settings.json by hand:

    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "pounce": {
          "httpUrl": "https://app.pounce.co.za/mcp",
          "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer YOUR_KEY" }
        }
      }
    }
  4. Start Gemini CLI and run /mcp to see Pounce and its tools.

Check it works

Ask: “Use Pounce to count security companies in Pretoria with news this quarter.”

Then ask for what you need

  • “Find steel fabricators in Ekurhuleni with a website”
  • “Open the full record for the third one”
  • “Which construction companies in KwaZulu-Natal won contracts this month?”
  • “Show my ten best leads and why each fits”
  • “Which cleaning tenders close this week in Gauteng?”
  • “Here are my 20 customers: which of them had news lately?”
  • “Draft an email to that contractor about our plant hire”
  • “How many export rows have I used this month?”

The MCP server and the API come with the Growth and Agency plans. Each business returned with its contacts uses one export row, as a CSV row does.
