Pounce AI

Pounce MCP serverYour AI, with South Africa’s businesses

The Pounce MCP server gives any AI app that speaks the Model Context Protocol eight tools over South African business data: search, full records, buying signals, your leads, open tenders, matching your own list, outreach drafts and your usage.

The address

Streamable HTTP. Send your Pounce API key as a header:

https://app.pounce.co.za/mcp
Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY

For apps that only take an address, put the key in it and keep that address private:

https://app.pounce.co.za/mcp/YOUR_KEY

Make the key in Pounce under Settings, API keys. Growth and Agency plans.

Step-by-step guides

The rules it follows

  • The same data and filters as the app, with a source on every signal
  • 120 calls a minute per key
  • A business returned with its contacts uses one export row, as a CSV row does
  • Lists go 5,000 deep; your plan’s daily limits apply
  • People only in their business roles; anything someone asked us to remove stays out

The eight tools

ToolWhat it doesTry asking
search_companies

Find businesses by name or what they do, filtered by province, town, kind of business, size and whether they have a phone or email. Contacts are optional: each result with contacts uses one export row.“Find steel fabricators in Ekurhuleni with a website”
get_company
One business in full
A business’s full record: contacts, people in business roles, registrations, size, the tools its website runs and its latest signals with sources. Uses one export row.“Open the full record for the third one”
find_signals
Recent buying signals
Contracts won, hiring, new sites, expansion, development, construction starts, new leadership, moves, funding, new owners, advertising and licences: newest first, each with its source.“Which construction companies in KwaZulu-Natal won contracts this month?”
my_leads
Your leads
The signals and tenders Pounce judged a fit for what you sell, best first, with why each fits and the way in.“Show my ten best leads and why each fits”
open_tenders
Open government tenders
Tenders and requests for quotation open now, closing soonest first, with the buyer and the published contact.“Which cleaning tenders close this week in Gauteng?”
match_companies
Look up businesses you hold
Match up to 25 businesses you already have, by website or email domain, phone or name, to Pounce’s records.“Here are my 20 customers: which of them had news lately?”
draft_outreach_email
Draft an outreach email
One short email to a business, written from its latest signal and what you sell, asking whether they’d like to hear more.“Draft an email to that contractor about our plant hire”
my_usage
Plan and usage
Your plan and this month’s export rows used.“How many export rows have I used this month?”

Questions

Which AI apps work with the Pounce MCP server?

Any app that connects to remote MCP servers over HTTP: Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI and GitHub Copilot in VS Code have step-by-step guides here, and others work the same way with the address https://app.pounce.co.za/mcp and your key.

Which plans include it?

Growth (R3,499 a month) and Agency (R7,999 a month), the plans that include the API. Each call uses your plan’s allowances, the same as the app.

Does my AI see phone numbers and emails?

Only when it asks for them: a search can include contacts, and each business returned with contacts uses one export row from your plan, the same as a CSV row. Everything passes Pounce’s privacy filter, and people appear only in their business roles.

Is my key safe?

The key is yours alone: send it as an Authorization header, or keep the address with the key in it private. You can make a new key and switch the old one off in Settings at any time.
